Honeyberry Winter 2016 Tour
Good Morning, we thought we would update readers with a Honeyberry Winter 2016 Tour of Stewart’s Scottish orchard. We were lucky to capture it on a brisk sunny afternoon. We tried the day of our Honeyberry Crush visit and our ‘camera hands’ nearly froze off.
The pictures or tour below capture the beauty of this young Honeyberry orchard and show its different stages of development. It also includes a peek into Stewart’s tunnels were plants are being prepared for autumn planting in 2017. Enjoy the tour.

The picture trio below shows the newly planted winter cover crop starting to show signs of life between the newly planted Honeyberry rows. The pictures on the right show newly planted Honeyberries under our ‘Slow Cooker’ method and new rows to be planted next season.
The picture trio below shows the newly 2016 autumn planted Honeyberries. These plants have been grown on from small plantlets over the summer season under plastic tunnels. The bottom right picture combines the 2016 and 2015 plantings. Sadly the plants are only just visible because they are dormant. We are expecting a small healthy first and second-year harvest in 2017, which will be hand picked.
The picture trio below shows the 2015 orchard planting on the left with established cover crops between the rows. The varieties shown are Berry Blue, Indigo Gem and Wojtek.
The picture trio below show shows the start of next seasons Honeyberries to be planted out in the autumn of 2017 and experimental potted plants grown under tunnels for the early Honeyberry fresh hand picked market.
